Accurate Fluid Properties with PhaseSampler and PVT Express

Getting correct fluid properties is critical to achieve accurate flow rates in any type of flow measurement; yet typically, fluid densities, viscosities and other properties are estimated from generalized correlations or model predictions based on fluid samples of unknown quality.

Now, fluid properties can be directly measured in the field from quality-verified, single-phase samples drawn straight from the multiphase flow line using the new PhaseSampler service. In addition, shrinkages to stock tank conditions are also measured and PVT-quality recombination samples can be collected in bottles for full phase behavior analysis in a lab. Same-day, on-site determination of fluid properties is also available with the portable PVT Express, which combines sample property measurement and model characterization for the best of quality and turn-around-time. Within hours of sampling, new fluid properties can be uploaded to the flow computer for each wellstream.
